this novel is too fooking poisonous, even with my Thousand Poisons Body I barely withstood it. It's quite a disappointment from the author of a banger novel(first saint of kunlun), because mc is throughly abused by a female demoness and bro doesn't even dare to escape, doesn't even use his appraisal cheat most of time. It seems like someone forced author on a gunpoint to write this poisonous shit.
Imagine writing a "System+Cultivation" novel and thinking "I will write an MC with a good cheat system that he can abuse if he has balls, but he can't cause he's a limp d*ck wimp." This is that novel. The MC spent 90% of the story literally hiding everything in him for no reason other than "I'm scared". Almost EVERY situation that he is in could be solved if he uses his worth as a deterrence, but no, for some reason his solution is to hide himself cause "it might make everyone suspicious oh him". Ironically enough, him hiding makes people even MORE suspicious of him. Like really nigga. He lets himself be curbstomped for no f*cking reason other than he's too much of a wimp.
MC is stupid, and overly passive/"low key" to the point it backfires back at him. He has the typical "appraisal" ability but stops using it after a while and keeps getting get caught off guard by people around him. He discovers several traitors but doesn't do anything about them (ie send in anonymous tip) until the the traitors eventually attacks him and he is forced to kill them with the price of getting in trouble with traitor's backing. The "Demoness" who is presumably the FMC is a massive bitch who treats MC like dirt. She made him a massive target for powerful forces but barely helps. In fact every time she visits him; he has to empty his savings to serve her expensive tea that she likes. The MC is taking care of some plants that could help her recover from her injuries; the plants could grow faster with more resources and MC has told FMC this. But she never offers to provide him with resources even though it could help her recover faster (and even takes stuff away from him like I said before) and she is infinitely more rich than him. I would hope their relationship dynamic would change or the MC would grow smarter/less timid over time but at 350 chapters nothing has changed. Do not recommend unless you are a masochist.
I'm in chapter 1034, and their relationship doesn't change much, he's still used by her, she offers him no help, he does everything for her, all his money is used for her and these plants, without her giving him almost no help... a toxic relationship I would say. Ps: for the plant she needs, there's no way to help her grow faster, and only the mc can grow it. On the other hand, for his other plant which needs an infinite quantity of stone, it could have helped it, it would save it from doing so much. But hey, the FMC is crap, but the worst is the mc, shame he disgusts me, there in chapter 1034, he just fought one of the most powerful clan alone, traquil, then some chapter later, when he returns to his sect he is abused by a golden core rondome that he can kill with a simple sigh...the contrast kills me...I understand that the author wants to make a discreet mc, but that's more discretion, he just likes to trample his mc by all possible means, if I hadn't just read a mc who fights one of the most powerful clans, he might not bother as much but the... in short, I don't know if the author is a masochist and has made an mc has his image, but it's the only valid reason that I can see.
this novel is kinda good for me cause it's been so long since I read a novel without stopping.
god I'm happy to see that people with brain and good taste still exist
